I often get a laptop from a teacher that has food in the keyboard, greasy smudges on the screen and a filthy trackpad. Now, please don’t think I’m questioning your hygiene here! I’m just saying that food, drink and messy objects don’t mix with your electronic device! Minor touch ups and a few simple rules will keep your machine working well for a long time.
If you haven’t already purchased a box of screen cleaner wipes or a special screen cleaner for all your devices (phones, tablets, computer screens, TV) I would recommend that you consider it. It not only looks better, but keeps those nasty little germs from spreading every time you touch your device!

One last point: Be careful of the pen/pencil left on the laptop right up by the screen. This is a sure way to break your LCD screen! LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. When you “break” the housing for the liquid, it just splotches all over the place like paint. Not very user friendly and not inexpensive to fix.
